Anna Plechatá Krausová, DPhil.

Anna Plechatá Krausová is a political scientist and sociologist. Since 2020, she has been working at NEWTON and since 2012 at the University of Oxford, where she earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree, led her research, and also teaches.

Her research interests range from protests, civic participation, and democracy to the management of social and economic risks, migration, and multiculturalism in Europe and Latin America.

Currently, she is exploring theories of authenticity and leadership in phenomena ranging from protests to marketing and is also focusing on resilience, i.e., personal resilience and its impact on various socio-political phenomena.

She enjoys teaching and mentoring students to help them achieve their full academic, professional, and personal potential.

At NEWTON, she was behind the development and accreditation of the Global Business and Management program, which offers students a comprehensive education in English. She is engaged in international cooperation and seeks out interesting and inspiring foreign partners, from professional associations to cooperating universities. She is very interested in innovations and new possibilities in teaching, such as the use of AI.

Her current mission is to bring the best of education in economics, management, and social sciences from around the world to NEWTON.
